Fire Island Hosta quilt completed

I started working on the Fire Island Hosta quilt pattern (by Judy Neimeyer) last summer. The finished quilt size is about 94″ x 94″.  I finished 2 queen size bed quilts this year.  I think that I am done with large bed quilts for a while – hopefully.  I completed the quilt top in April and mailed it to my friend Sarah to do the long arm quilting.  She had fun playing with different quilting designs on the quilt.  She did an amazing job on the quilting.  Last week I added the binding to the quilt.  So now I just need to make a quilt label.  Can’t wait to get this new quilt on my bed.  I am still amazed that I actually finished this large paper piecing quilt project.  It did take me almost a year to cut out all the pieces, put all the sections together and then add the borders.  I do love all the perfect points that you get with a paper piecing pattern like Judy Niemeyer’s patterns. Keep having fun sewing and quilting. Donna
