Neutral throw – Kira pattern

Last year we went on a quilters trip to Iceland that was lead by Gudrun Erla of GE Designs.   image  It was a truly awesome trip and one of the highlights was a workshop taught by Gudrun for our tour and local Icelandic quilters.   We learned how to use her Stripology Rulers and we worked on the Kira block.

When I was looking for a pattern to make a throw for a light cream loveseat I thought of this pattern and wondered how it our look in neutrals.   I usually like to use color but I really needed a neutral throw.

Kira on the design wall.

So, at our quilt guild’s January retreat, I worked on the blocks for the quilt.

I finished it a number of months ago, but just noticed that I forgot to blog about it.  So… here it the finished quilt.   It is an easy and fun pattern and I love using the Stripology Rule to cut the fabric.  It make cutting fun and super fast.   I highly recommend them.

Finished throw & Ranger approved.

If you are looking for a great trip to Iceland or a wonderful workshop for your guild, check out her website.    She has great patterns and they are all fast and easy.

Happy Stitchin,
