“Kira” quilt pattern (GE Designs) from quilting traveling buddies

Last month our quilting traveling buddies, Carolyn and Barb, surprised me with a lap quilt that they made using the Kira pattern.  Last August Mary and I  had traveled together with Carolyn and Barb to Iceland with the quilt designer, Gudrun from GE Designs.  We got the Kira quilt pattern during our trip when we had a sew day with Icelandic quilters.  Carolyn and Barb used lots of pink fabric in the quilt because I had been diagnosed with breast cancer.  For the backing, they used green flannel fabric with scissors to remember our quilting trip to Ireland a few years ago.  I love the design of this quilt pattern.

Ranger’s “stamp of approval”

I made 2 squares using the Kira pattern when we were in Iceland.  Carolyn, Barb, and Mary have all made  “Kira” quilts since our trip to Iceland.  I guess I was the “slacker” in the group but now I have my own Kira lap quilt from Carolyn and Barb. Check out GE Designs for more fun and easy patterns. Keep have fun sewing and quilting.  Donna
