“Cattails” landscape quilt completed

11″ x 18″

I finished the “Cattails” wall hanging that I started in Sue Benner’s Sewing the Land workshop last month.  I quilted the background using a walking foot to sew wavy lines in 3 different colored threads – blue, tan, and dark brown.  Then I stitched along the outline of all the grasses using a triple stitch – purple, orange, and greens.  I stitched the cattails last using a triple stitch along the outline of the stems and cattails.  I used thread sketching to add dark and light shading to the cattails.  For the satin stitch binding, I used 3 shades of green thread.  Keep having fun sewing and quilting.
