Quilting during Hurricane Matthew

We were lucky to have power most of the day during Hurricane Matthew, so Donna and I both worked on our Modern Quilting Group’s block challenge.   We had to incorporate some/all of the challenge fabric and make a 12 1/2″ modern block.    The 1st one was ugly (according to Donna…. ok, I agreed) so I made another one.   Here is my second one.   I wish I had taken a pic of my 1st block so you too could have judged.

challenge-blocksI like this one.  It was inspired by watching Project Runway online.   The contestants got to create their own fabric and one of them did parrot feathers.   Now this is not a parrot feather, but it IS a modern feather.

Happy Stitch’n,

Mary
