I finished my color wheel quilt. I have enjoyed making this quilt and trying out new techniques for each of the squares. It has been fun playing with color. There are 5 openings in the quilt. I added yarn and beads to some of the openings in the quilt. I also made narrow strips of some dyed silk fabric to use in another opening. I used a piece of burnt purple batting to dangle at the bottom of the quilt.
For the binding, I used yarn – 3 strands of yarn on the front and back of the quilt edges. Using an open toe foot on the sewing machine, I stitched 3 strands of yarn on the back of the quilt first – using a honeycomb stitch (length = 3.0, width = maximum width for your machine). Then stitched 3 strands of yarn to the front edges. I used black yarn and black thread. Keep having fun sewing and quilting. Donna
