Upcycled denim projects for kids to sew

image        I bought some pairs of jeans at a thrift shop to use in an upcycled denim sewing projects.  I cut off the pocket and cut apart the pant legs.  The kids in my sewing class, sewed the pocket on the pant leg.  Then they sewed the side and bottom.  They made a strap by folding the fabric and then stitching the two sides and attached to the bag.  The girls were very excited about their little jean bags.  Also added a piece of velcro at the top of the bag.  imageWe also used another pant leg to make a zipper pouch.   There are lots of ideas on pinterest for using jeans to make upcycled projects.  Keep having fun sewing and quilting.  Donna
