Sew Radiant quilt – Serger quilt class at Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival

image          I made this quilt using a Serger and the 4 thread overlock stitch.  Sew Radiant is an Eleanor Burns’ Quilt in a Day pattern.  Once I marked the 1/4″ seam allowance on the serger using blue painter tape, I was set to go.  This pattern has a modern look with the  design off set to one side with only 2 borders.  This quilt pattern can be made using a serger or a sewing machine.  I did have to use my sewing machine to sew 4 seams to attach the triangle pieces that extend into the two borders.  The pattern includes 3 different layouts.  It was an easy pattern to follow and complete.  Keep having fun sewing and quilting. 1. I love this ‘barn raising’ layout. Have used it often with Asian fabrics. The narrow white lines are a cool and unusual touch!
