Art group challenge quilt

imageOne of the women in our art group gave us a challenge to use items and fabric in a bag that she gave each of us in November.  In the bag there was some rusted fabric and other assorted fabric scraps, yellow pipe cleaners, beads, ribbon, tea bags (minus the tea of course), clay, a metallic piece, batting, and a loosely woven fabric.  One of the photos shows what was in the bag.  The size requirement for the completed project was 12″ square or less.  You were required to use some of everything in the bag.  Looking at the rusted fabric reminded me of the buildings we saw in Santa Fe last year.  So I decided to make a landscape quilt based on a postcard from Santa Fe.  It was a fun project.  It was a challenge to figure out how to use some of the items in the bag. I used a black Sharpie pen to change the color of the yellow pipe cleaners.   I mounted the landscape quilt on stretcher frames.  Keep having fun sewing and quilting.  Donnaimage
