Quilting retreat at the beach

Disappearing 9 patch.

Charity Quilt

Triangle Frenzy table runner.

Last month, Mary and I went on a quilting retreat at the beach with 2 quilting buddies, Carolyn and Barb.  Before the trip, I packed several projects so that I would not run out of projects.  I pre-cut lots of the fabric before leaving home.

While on retreat, I added sashing and borders to a charity quilt. Mary and I each made 2 disappearing nine patch squares for a charity sew with the modern quilt guild that we belong to.  I pieced a table runner. image I worked on the piecing of a twin size quilt that will be a gift next year.  There was still lots of piecing to do on the twin quilt once we got home.

Of course we managed to fit in some shopping (outlet malls & quilt shops). We all bought slippers on one of our shopping trips.  image

We had a great view of the ocean from our room. The weather was cold, windy and we had some rain.  But we had a good time and lots of laughs.  There was a good sized table to hold our four sewing machines and an ironing board.

The dining room table (our workspace).

Keep having fun sewing and quilting.   Donna
