Treedom class by Gina Perkes at AQS in Charlotte, NC

image Mary and I took a bobbin work class from Gina Perkes at the AQS in Charlotte, NC at the end of July. It was a fun project using fun threads in the bobbin to decorate the pot in the pattern. Gina Perkes was a good teacher and was very helpful  during the class. Although I wished that I could have use my Bernina sewing machine for the class. The purpose of the class was to learn the techniques and try different heavy weight threads in the bobbin using decorative stitches. We did the imageproject using white fabric for the background. When I got home, I wasn’t sure I wanted to finish the project because of the white background and I really didn’t like some of the decorative stitching on the my pot. Last week I decided that I wanted to finish the project but use different background fabric. I decided not to use the pot. I created a fall tree wall hanging. I found some small pieces of green plaid wool left over from another project so added some green leaves to the tree also. I used bobbin work and decorative stitches to decorate the hill that the tree is placed on. Happy first day of fall. Donna
