Batik Bag challenge – Barbados Bag

image         Our modern quilting guild had a batik fabric exchange earlier this year.  Our challenge was to make a bag or tote bag and bring it to the September meeting. I wanted to make another purse to use during the fall and winter months so I decided to use the Barbados bag by Pink Sand Beach Designs.  I made this pattern a couple of years ago and liked the style of the bag.  I did make the bag a little larger than the pattern and also added a zippered pocket inside.  To use the batik challenge fabrics, I choose the blues and rose colors for the outside of the bag.  All the green batiks I used in the pockets or inside the bag.  It was a fun to see how other members used the fabric to make their bags.  Keep having fun sewing and quilting.
