Another Hurricane Sandy quilt

DSCN5923

Here is my finished Hurricane Sandy quilt.  I have always wanted to make a blue and white quilt.  I used scraps from my blue fabric box.  The center squares were quick and easy to make.  I started with two 9 & 1/2″ squares. With right sides together, I stitched around the outside edges using a 1/4″ seam allowance.  Then I cut the square on both diagonals to make 4 squares.  These squares were used to make the center square design.  We mailed our quilts to New Jersey last week.  I hope these quilts will bring hope and warmth to the many survivors of Hurricane Sandy.  Stay strong – all of you are in our thoughts.
