Scrappy Pumpkin

I was looking for a project that I could do with 5″ squares.  I searched the internet for pumpkin quilt ideas/ images and decided to make a scrappy pumpkin.  I pieced the orange and black squares together to make the pumpkin shape.  Then I quilted lines on the pumpkin with a decorative stitch with the batting only on the back of the pieced square.  I wanted to make a reversible piece that I could also use as a fall table topper and did not want the quilted face showing on the back side.  I drew a pumpkin face on fusible web and quilted the face with a blanket stitch.  Then I added the stem, leaves and vines.  I put the backing on and quilted around the pumpkin.  The finished size was about 27″ square. Can’t wait until October so I can hang it up in my house.
